hi, I've just experienced midlet using gamecanvas however i have a basic question about sprite, do i have to provide 3 images in directory res in order to run sprite in 3 frames?

Not quite sure what you mean, but a Sprite would be one file with multiple frames to "act" out the animation portion of the image.
