This is probably not the right place for this query, but I felt this is surely the closest. My client has this device with windows CE on it, wants a database with minimum functionality. he will probably have two or three tables and primitive data. he needs a way to add delete edit query the info. So he might not really need a rdbms as such, I was thinking flat files or xmlfiles is also a solution.

Can anyone plz thro some light, share their views on this scenario?

regards,
Brian

Although the words Windows CE make me feel queasy to read in a j2me forum,
you might want to look at SQL Server CE 2.0

It is still a real database tool, but i guess it is small enough for mobiles.

If the data is that small, why not use something like the record store in j2me.

Search google for it and you will find plenty of links.

Roy,

Thanks for the reply. Looking at SQL CE as u suggested. about using j2me, I am not yet clear if the client is ok with it. coz he already has stuff written in c# on it, so probably I would try to extend it.

regards,
Brian
