Detecting MIDP version?

Does anyone know of a 100% reliable way of detecting for MIDP1.0 at runtime?

Would System.getProperty("microedition.profiles").equals("MIDP-1.0") always return true for MIDP1.0 phones, or is there a more dependable way?

By principle yes, a MIDP 1.0 implementation must return that value, though I guess some implementations may have the odd bug ...

There seems to be no reliable alternative. See

http://developers.sun.com/techtopics/mobility/midp/questions/properties/index.html

"MIDP-1.0" must be returned for MIDP 1.0 devices, "MIDP-2.0" for MIDP 2 devices.

Thanks Eduardo. I suppose there's only way way to find out...

It is sorta covered in the JavaRanch Style Guide.
