Hi Ranchers,

I am a Java programmer (J2SE and J2EE) and now I want to dive into the world of J2ME. I tried to look around for good books and found the following:

1. Wireless Java: Developing with J2ME, Second Edition, By Jonathan Knudsen, Published on Feb 2003 (covers MIDP 2.0)

2. Beginning J2ME: From Novice to Professional, Third Edition, by Jonathan Knudsen & Sing Li, published in 2005 (covers MIDP 2.0)

3. J2ME in a Nutshell, by O'Reilly, published in 2003 (covers MIDP 1.0)

Can the ranchers please suggest me the best book on J2ME (either from the above list or any other)

The last publication is in 2005. It is strange to notice that no books were published on J2ME after 2005.

Thanks in advance.

cheers
Andy

Hi Emmanuel beaufort,

Thanks very much for the information.

The book that you have specified seems to be specifically for developing games in J2ME. Can you please suggest another 'general' book on J2ME.

Thank you very much for your time.

Tim Holloway,

Can you please suggest a book on J2ME for a Java developer (I am not looking for a book dedicated to any particular J2ME topic).

Thanks very much for your time.

I don't know any engish books about this topic, but if you are already a java developer it really shouldn't matter which book to take. Just be aware that it covers MIDP 2.0. For an advanced java programmer it should be sufficient to read a few tutorials and the api-documentation.
