Hi, I am new here
Im considering about making j2me game for cell phones. I am not sure if this will be freeware or if this will be worth to try to sell it. I never made any game before, so Im not experieced in this. But I am professional 3d and 2d artist and also game player

I want to ask how much could it cost to make programming for simple adventure game (something like silent hill for cell phones, but with no monsters and with more riddles)? I mean I am not programmer and it is hard for me. So I am asking if I will pay someone for programming game like this, how much will it cost (approximately)...

thanks!

"total science",

We don't have many rules here at the JavaRanch, but we do insist that you use you Real Name and not some sort of "handle" or obvious alias. If you're not sure about this, see
http://www.javaranch.com/name.jsp .

Customer surveys are for companies who didn't pay proper attention to begin with.

Thanks, and welcome to the Ranch!

If you're serious enough about this to want to formally hire someone, you can post in the Jobs Offered forum.

Where I live, we don't have much commercial game development going on, but those that did weren't paying very much compared to non-game programming.

As for what the industry rates are, I'd try and find some of the online magazines for the gaming and mobile apps industries and see if they have anything on the subject.

Another thing would be to check the "rent-a-coder" sites like eLance and see what other people are bidding for jobs like that.

I agree. Here's the link: http://ej-technologies/jprofiler - if it wasn't for jprofiler, we would need to run our stuff on 16 servers instead of 3.
