Hi All,
I still wondering why is :
<code>
int i = 3;
float j = 3.2f;
if (Math.ceil(i) <= Math.floor(j)) {
System.out.println("works");
}
</code>
works happily ? When I checked my JDK1.3 API, I saw that Math.ceil() and Math.floor() takes only double value.
Can anyone tell me something more about this ?

When the compiler sees that you are calling ceil or floor with another numeric type, it automatically inserts a promotion to double. effectively Math.ceil((double)i)
