Can anybody explain in brief what is the difference between Sun's java & Microsoft's java..

the following article explains on a high-level of abstraction what makes MS's Java and Sun's Java different. Since Java will not be supported anymore by MS in their new OS I'd prefer using Sun's Java instead of MS's Java. Basically, both, Sun and MS, want to have control over how the OS is accessed from the API.
