Threads!!!! where to start from???????

Please anybody suggest me a good place to start with threads & get good amount of confidence in this topic.Believe me it realy scares me when i hear anybody talking about actual sun exam & qty & toughness of the thread ques.
please help!!!

Either chapter in the VM and JL specifications is probably you're best bet (8 and 17 respectively), they're nearly identical. I've also found Doug Lea's Book "Concurrent Programming in Java: Design Principles and Patterns" to be very good (see http://gee.cs.oswego.edu/dl/.)

Sorry, that's the Virtual Machine Specification and the Java Language Specification. They can both be viewed/downloaded at those links.

An excellent source of information, for improving thread related fundas are the discussions on Maha Annas page on this site, in my opinion.

i must agree. everything you need is already laid out for you there... at least the most basic and most important ones are there.
