Can we benefit from the hyperthreading technology in a VM?

I have a computer based on a Intel Pentium 4 CPU supporting the hyper-threading technology.
Is there a way to benefit from this technology (same question if I would have a computer with 2 CPUs) within a Java VM and by extension from Java apps running in the VM?
In other words, do any Java VM (Sun, etc) implementation suport the usage of more than 1 CPU and offer real multi-threading?
Thx a lot.

With the exception of some really old JVMs, most JVMs uses the underlying threading model of the Operating System.
To answer your question... yes.

I agree. Here's the link:

Can I know and regulate the thread-mode of JVM?
Does performance improves with multithreading
How comes the inconsistence ?
Just passed SCJD... Hooray???
