a. True. From the API
Convenience class for reading character files.

b. False, InputStream is abstract and read bytes
c. False, There is no CharacterArrayReader but CharArrayReader and it does not read from a file but from a char array
d. True, if you chain a FileInputStream with an InputStreamReader you can read character from a file
e. False, there is no OutputStreamReader class
