Hello Folks,
1st time "poster" but a quiet follower.... I have a question...
I've been programming for a few years, though my role in the industry has largely been in an OOA/OOD capacity. Anyway, to cut a long story short(er), I did a mock exam (Sybex, and scored 60-odd percent).
I've never studied or prepared for the mock, but now I'm facing a mini crisis; I agreed (under the watchful eye of my CTO) to take ten days out, and revise in order to take the exam on 31 december of this year.
I know its hard to tell, but I can say I'm fairly confident in all the syllabus barring I/O. What chance do I have of passing the exam if I spend the next 11 days intensely revising?
I know this question is akin to "how long is a piece of string", but assuming that the Sybex mock was not a fluke, do i have a chance in hell of passing the exam after some 11 hard days study?
Thanks All.... I await your reply with much anticipation...

I'd say that it's doable, no question about it...
You may want to have a look at http://www.javaranch.com/maha for some more links to various mock exams, because I think one mock exam type is not sufficient to get the real feeling as to how the actual exam looks like...

Well i think u can achieve & a/c to Sybex u need only 1% to pass! .U have a good experience & u just need to revise all the SCJP stuff. This u can do by reading Khalid Mughals chapter(i think there are total of 15 SCJP related chapters). You can divide 15 chapters in 7dayz & in rest of 4dayz u just pick a pile of well known notes(in my opinion Velmurgen) & do as much mocks as u can.One mock is hardly of 2 hours,so u can do 5 mocks in 10 hours easily.I think its enough to pass even u can take %age in 80's & inspire ur CTO
Bye.

Wow. Only 11 days. I think you should probably take a mock exam which many say are close to the real exam. I've heard many say the Marcus Green exams are similar to the real thing. Take one or two of them and you will have a better idea of where you stand.

That would be impressive, but I wouldn't say easy. Don't forget the time to review each question and test code.
