Does the exam ask questions about these less common i/o classes? In all the mocks I've taken I haven't seen one. I haven't even seen any using ByteArrayXXX or CharArrayXXX either.

Nope; the I/O focusses on semantic details rather than variety. You should know these classes except because they're available subclasses. After that, no worries.
