Ideas on organizing study groups?

Hi all,
I was just wondering if anybody out there has organized or participated in a study group for the certification exam. If you have, would you mind sharing your experience? What worked and what didn't? What would you have done to make the group study time more effective?

Hi! I have the same question.. We would like to organise a study group for the OCPJP in my company and I'd be glad to hear some experiences/suggestions...

Hello,
Are you planning to make a study group for preparing for OCJP? Well divide chapters weekly
and keep one day on discussion preferably the last working day. Are you both planning for OCPJP
too?

When I was studying for this exam, I wanted to create a study group with one other person, but she was busy getting her graduate degree. I ended up creating a FB page in hopes to share information on studying for SCJP and other certification exams. Turns out, the act of maintaining the FB page was a great motivator in studying for this, and other exams.
Study groups are good. Many people also keep study blogs. Hec, I'm thinking of creating how-to videos on basic SCJP concepts for the fun of it....
