Applet to html communication

hi all,
iam using 2D graphics in my applet to draw lines using mouse.iam having the buttons to replay what ever i have drawn in Html file.now when iam not using 2D graphics iam able to communicate with applet from html through buttons in html.but when iam using 2d graphics iam getting an OLE error when i press the button top replay the drawings.
can some one please help me whether 2D graphics support Applet to Html communication??

Check your VM. If you're looking at this in IE, the Microsoft VM does not support the Java2 Graphics2D class. To get IE to support this class you need to use the Java Plug-In.

dear tobe,
i downloaded the plugin,
actually iam using the object tag in my html file.when iam using this object tag i could not communicate with html from applet.
if iam using applet tag iam able to communicate,
but applet tag is not suppoting the 2D graphics.Object tag is supporting 2d graphics but html communication is not possible.
can some one help me how to use 2d graphics with html to applet communication.
