Anyone else been through "Mike Meyer's Certification Passport - Java 2". There are SO many mistakes in this book, it's ridiculous. Especially in the practice exams.
Anyhow, the book isn't so bad if you can get past that. On the flip-side, I'm really liking the Exam Cram book.
Cheers!

Dan,
Well I have no comments for Mike's book since I have not used it.But Exam Cram is a good book(recommended by many)
Also I feel, RHE and Khalid Moghul book are the best..Infact I feel they both are the very much based on the certification point of view.
Happy Studying

Hi Dan,
There are some mistakes in the book. The first edition of any technical book invariably has errors; regardless of the good intentions of the author(s) and publishers. The publisher is currently working on an errata page. There is a partial 'errata' page (for chapters 1 and 5) at http://www.janeg.ca/java2.html.

Hee, hee, hee. . .I guess Ole Dan didn't know that you guys posted in this forum. I did - part of the reason I bought the book - I noticed some errors, but mostly I bought the book so I could do the exam since I knew the authors frequented this forum and would take a lot of the forum comments into consideration when devising a mock. I passed it pretty easily - I own 6 cert books - and you guys did a good job compared to some of the disasters I've seen published.

Well thanks Jim.
As to typos - the authors have little control over that. Plus after reading a chapter for the 50th time - you tend to see what you wrote - not what the typesetter typed. It is a problem.
I would expect that Dans edition of the Exam Cram (which is a fine book) is not a first printing.
First printings are notoriously difficult. You should ask the RHE guys about their first printings (he he he). OK I'll behave now. .
The Passport book is in second printing as we speak. Hopefully many of the typos were caught and corrected.

I agree. Here's the link: http://aspose.com/file-tools
