I saw somewhere people mention "instanceOf". I know we have instanceof. Does the former exist
in Java?

Nope, instanceOf does not exist... The correct syntax is instanceof.

I'd add to that, that all java keywords are in lowercase and that instanceof is an operator, incase you get asked that
