Hey all,
I have been preparing for the certification exam. I want to finally(not a key word here) take up a date...but I have a problem! When I take the mocks, one way or another, I encounter topics that are not supposed to be on the exam! Files..native methods...
Is there any authentic source that tells me, study this, leave the rest? Sun site wasn't very clear!
Thanks for reading the whole thing(if u did) and I hope to join the elite club soon

Well Files are certainly on the exam. And you need to know how all the keywords work, so you must know what the native keyword does.
What mock exams have you taken? Most of the stuff on the mock exams for the SCJP are pretty good about not having things that won't be on the test. Although, sometimes the questions are poorly worded, and the answers are sometimes wrong as well.
Your best bet is to go over a study book like Complete Java 2 Certification.

Hello Anup
Best book to learn Java for the exam is Khalid Mughal's covers the exam and also some advance fetures....
But the Philip heller book is more exam oriented...
Syngress book is not that well for the exam...
