how many questions on it in the exam?

I'd expect somewhere between 5 and 10 (including event handling and layout management). One thing to note about these questions is that, usually the types of questions they ask about AWT are more general in nature than questions about things such as data types and exception handling, which are more "core" areas.

You can also wait for the new exam to come out (currently in Beta). They took out java.awt and questions. Assertions are the only additions to the previous objectives.
