Has anyone heard any word from Sun regarding the formalization of the 1.4 exam?

Joshua
I know they just recently got done with the beta testing for 1.4 and I'm not sure but I dont think many people have gotten their results back yet. I would expect another couple of months at least before they announce anything and even then it'd probably be to say that they are going to change it in a few months.
All in all it'll probably be at least another 4 months before it actaully changes and I would exect more like 6 months.
Of course, now that I've gone and opened my mouth, it'll change tomorrow.

I contacted my Sun educational services regional office, asking them about the proposed date of starting the new exam... got this email from them...
" We will be updating our Java Programmer exam in July of 2002. However, we have
yet to set a specific date. We will be posting this information on our website
once the Java Beta exam is completed. "
it would be some shock if i went to take the exam in July to find out that objectives have changed... thats why am takin the exam on the 30th of June

I called Sun Education and ask them would I be taking the newer version of the exam or would I be taking the current version. I was told that the newer version was not released yet, and that I won't be taking the newer version when I take my exam on July 17th. I don't know what that means.

I have pawed SUN's webpage and there will be 2 Programmers exams 310-025 and 310-035(JAVA 4 available in August), they will be running each together for now. I am not sure for how long though, I will need to speed up on my revision now. The SCJP4 exams does not include AWT and I/O - maybe I'd rather take the SCJP2 exams even though I used to think I hated I/O!
Goodluck all- I hope that by the time I am ready for my exams the SCJP2 is still running as I have only completed 30 percent of my revision so far!

Don't get me started about those stupid light bulbs.
