which test is better 1.2 or 1.4

i have been preparing for scjp2 for past month. now friends say i shud better give the new test for java 1.4
is the prep same for both.
help neone

The prep is not identical. There are many
objectives that are the same, but AWT and IO
were dropped from the 1.4 platform exam.
Assertions, hashCodes, and Wrapper Objects were
added objectives to the 1.4 exam.
Which is better? I'd say take the 1.4 platform
exam if you don't have alot of time invested
in the 1.2 platform exam. If you do have
significant time invested already - don't sweat
it, take the Java 1.2 platform exam.
Sun did this once before when they migrated the
JDK 1.1 programmer exam to the Java 2 programmer
exam. Both exams were offered in parallel for
about 9 months before the 1.1 exam was not
offered anymore. They gave about 4 months notice
on the actual elimination of the older exam -
they did not leave people hanging.
Considering the Certified Java Programmer Exam?
Get JCertify 6.0 ( Exam 310-035 )
