I have read and re-read the Exam Objectives for the Java 1.4 Programmer exam at: http://suned.sun.com/US/certification/java/java_exam_objectives.html#programmer1.4
However, there does not seem to be ANY mention of the AWT package. Also, there is no real reference to the IO or the UTIL package and only a meager mention of LANG.
Does anyone out there know if this is really true, if the AWT package is not covered in the exam. And that the UTIL and IO package are also taken out?

Rajat, you are posting in the wrong forum. This is the second time. Last thread was closed, so please post in the correct forum next time.
Your questions all seem to deal with the SCJP, so that forum would be best.
This forum is to post result scores only.

AWT has been dropped
Also, there is no real reference to the IO
IO has been dropped, too.
the UTIL package
Section 9 is dedicated to the Collections Framework (java.util)
and only a meager mention of LANG.
Section 8 is all about java.lang

Yes, all this is true, please check out the following links:

Thank you bartenders for correcting my errors. I'll be a wary rancher in the future.
I'm still in shock about the removal of some of those objectives from the new exam. One more point of clarification I am seeking, are Applets also not part of the 1.4 exam?

Lay down and drink some tea

Applets were not even part of the 1.2 exam. They have been dropped when the exam was upgraded from 1.1 to 1.2
