This week's book giveaway is in the OO, Patterns, UML and Refactoring forum. We're giving away four copies of Refactoring for Software Design Smells: Managing Technical Debt and have Girish Suryanarayana, Ganesh Samarthyam & Tushar Sharma on-line! See this thread for details.
Hi Kathy and Bert, I got your book yesterday and while I've only gone through the first chapter so far I've noticed a couple typo's in some of your examples. They are pretty minor, but so far in chapter 1 this is what I found: Page 13, example on octal line reads: int five = 06; // Equal to decimal 6 This should probably be: int six = 06; // Equal to decimal 6 The other one I found was page 29. Under "Arrays of Object References". The paragraph talks about Dog is a subclass as animal as follows, but then the stuff that follows is about Cars (Subaru, Honda, Ferrari extend Car). I was just wondering if you'd like me to keep track of these as I find them while reading your book? lance
Lance - We appreciate the so-called 'errata'. Probably best to just send us emails when you find them - unless they bring up a question for the forum. As we become aware of 'errata' pages and new printings, etc. we will let you all know.
Spot false dilemmas now, ask me how!
