I actually bought JQPlus a few days ago, not knowing that the 1.4 version is not available yet. So I emailed their customer service to request a refund, and these are the replies from them (in summary, the customer service staff was very rude): ================================================ I am disappointed with the product. It doesn't cover the materials required for 1.4 cert. exam. I don't think this app. will help me much, I would like a refund. Thanks. ================================================
User/Staff Follow-ups Paul Anil 8-1-2003-10:03 We have VERY CLEARLY written on our website that JQPlus is not for JDK1.4 exam. It is not like we have hidden it somewhere. It is right on the main page on the top. See it please: http://www.enthuware.com/jqplus ================================================ EDIT TICKET RE-OPENED BY USER<br> Thanks for making it so clear (with Uppercase) in your email that the information is on the main page. On http://www.enthuware.com/jqplus/why_our_products_are_guaranteed.html, you also CLEARLY stated "Simply put, if our tools don't help you, we don't want your money". <br> I don't think JQPlus is going to help me, and I would like my money back. If the refund has already been made, please send me a confirmation. <br> Thanks <br> ================================================ Your money will be refunded. In future, at least pay attention before buying. It wastes your as well as the seller's time and energy. Paul Anil 8-1-2003-6:34 Also, I hope you understand that once sold, software cannot be taken back unlike other commodities. latest update: After telling the cust. rep that I would post his replies on this forum, he wrote back to apologize 2 minutes ago.
IMPORTANT NOTICE : JQPlus 700 is for the SCJP exam based on JDK 1.2 (OLD PATTERN). It does not cover all the topics required for the new exam. We are working on the new version, which will be available soon.
I agree I should have paid attention to the main page. So I bought the wrong stuff, do I need to apologize to them because of that? Do they really need to give me a lecture about wasting their time? If they will chew you up for returning their products, imagine if you question the validity of the questions in the simulator? The point here is "customer service", something they do not understand.
Hi Ming Tan, I am sorry I really don't agree with you about your comments. Before you buy something you really want, you should be very careful about the details. I don't know why you bought this simulator but not even read the main page of the product's website. If I were you,I would not get the refund.Because it would be a good lesson to me. I would not waste time(other people and I) any more. Excuse my poor English. Sam
Ok. Ming didnt read the notice on the webpage, and is apologetic. Because you didnt read the notice, doesnt mean you are not entitled for refund. It is one of the tactics of Customer service to decline refund initially. If you have seen the movie "The Rainmaker", you would understand, how companies decline first, hoping that that customers wont pursue the matter. People like Sam, would be giving out money to these companies, thinking that its a lesson. Well, it is a lesson. It doesnt not mean you have to shed $20.00 (or whatever the cost of simulator) for that lesson. Please watch The Rainmaker and get the gist of how companies operate. It's funny when people talk about us as if we were a million dollar company and think that we are just doing business to make money. Many people don't know but we were the first to bring out a simulator at a such a low price ( $15 ) with full refund guarantee. Believe me, we don't make millions. Neither is this our main business and nor we want to rob people. We do this because we like it. We are developors primarily. Period. Now, coming to this issue. 1. I don't really think my replies were rude. I was surprised how somebody could miss the notice which is placed at a prominent location and was frustrated. Also, if you read my responses, I had issued the refund anyway. 2. I don't want to paste here what Mr. Ming Tan wrote. But let's just say calling someone jerk is not a great thing... after getting a refund at least! 3. Finally, I apologized because Mr. Ming Tan felt offended and I didn't want to waste any more of his or my time. Hope this solves the issue. Paul.
