are the interrupted(), interrupt(), and isInterrupted() methods covered on the 1.4 exam?

I believe Yes. I just took the exam on Saturday, some thread questions that I encountered asked about that.

I think that even if you wont see anything about this on the real exam it's good to learn, I guess the are usefull

Interesting: I have just read the Thread chapter in the Sierra/Bates SCJP2 book and do not recall seeing these methods mentioned. InterruptedException yes, but not these methods.
Also the above mentioned book does not mention that Thread.join() throws InterruptedException.
I did however fall asleep a few times... I'd better double check.
