i have problems with threads and i find them hard to understand. I want to write a program that displays a list of names (one at a time) on an applet using threads. Can anyone give a simple example.

Do you have a specific question about threads that you're having trouble with?
You can always check out the links to threading information here at JavaRanch. Give your program a shot and, if you have problems, let us know.
