I am confused between those, and other non-typical numberical terms. I guess I am confused between the rules for how I can declare literals for each kind of numbers above. I know some need to be proceeded with a 0, some uses 0xXXX, some does /ud343, but what are all the rules for what those numbers can be...can somebody help or just point me to the right place to look?

Hi Wilson,
I was also confused initially, but reading again and again will give you the idea. Also read this topic from Jamie Jaworski's book. Its they have given simple explaination with explanatory diagrams.

Is there something free I can find? when I do a search on google, I type "octal java" and "hexadecimal java" but only garbage comes up, I guess that is just too broad a query. Can somebody give me a link they know of?
