Hello!! I want to take the SCJP exam but dont know which book to use to prepare for it. I started working with Java a couple of months back and now know the basics. Although I have written tiny programs, I have never done any extensive programming in Java. Thus: Which book should I use to prepare for the SCJP exam? -Please suggest a book, which is designed for a beginner and will also help me in preparing for the exam "hopefully passing it" . AND How much time do I need to prepare for the exam?
Get Kathy Sierra's and Bert Bates's SCJP&D book. The amount of time it takes depends on how much time you can spend each day/week on studying. If you make it your full time job you could do it in under a month.
