Hi all,
Is JLS kind of 'must read' stuff for taking SCJP? because some of the JLS stuff seems confusing...it's like too much theory? Any recommendations from the experts?
Thanks
Deep

Deep -
When I prepared for my certification, I used JLS when I had doubts about what I was reading in my study guide (Kathy an Bert Book). It's got tons of information that is not required for the exam, but it also clears doubts you have.
So, in conclusion, I sticked to my book, tons of mock exams, and JLS when I was confused.
and of course, javaranch

Deep,
JLS serves as final resolutiuon for any Java language issues, however, sometimes it could be a little dry to read (especially for people not using English as native language like me)
my rocommendation would be choose one SCJP book as main tool & use JLS as reference while studying.
good luck
