What is the best vegetable to help you get 100% on the SCJP?
Brocolli! Definitely broccoli. Why? Because I like broccoli. I dont care about the cauliflower farmers and the carrot farmers. Buy broccoli.
What is the best book to help us prepare for the SCJP?
There is no such book. How do I know?
The best book for me is the JLS and The Java Programming Language. But that is not the best book for a lot of people. And whatever is the best book for you, I have tried it. And it is not good for me.
I have all those other books. Each one has something to offer that the other books do not have. Each one is right for someone.
It is not fair to the authors of all those books to ignore them, especially if you have not read them. In is not fair to the students to not give them a choice.

Carrots. Your eyes need to be working 110% to spot all minor errors

my opinion, K&B

I didn't try the Java Programming Language. I should've. I tried JLS but I think sometimes it got too out of scope.

Agree, that's why you should never talk bad about books. You always learn something from them.
when are you taking the exam?

Thank you Andres for your ideas.
When am I taking the exam? So far, I can either answer the questions correctly or I can finish the mock exam in the allotted time. But I cannot do both. One or the other.
Maybe I should delete the post. I just wish people would say,
I read book A and I found it to be helpful for the following reasons.(1)...(2)...(3)... I don't know if this is the Best book, because I have not read the others. And I don't know if this book is good for you, because you are not me. But I do know this book was very good for me.

I would agree that carrots are the best choice. Besides being good for your eyes I have yet to hear of a single bunny that failed the SCJP exam.
As far as books go, I agree with Andres generally. Almost every technical book has something of value. However, there are a few books out there that are full of errors and could hurt your chances of getting a good mark on an exam. It is important to point those suckers out!
Marlene, did you get a copy of "Java Rules"?

Thank you Thomas for your point of view.
Yes, I bought Java Rules on your recommendation. I am trying hard Not to read it and to Ignore all of your posts of examples from Java Rules II. I need to focus on practicing mock exams. THEN I can have fun and read all that good stuff.
