Okay folks, I feel like I have done my duty here today and life calls. This is the first time I have really used the JavaRanch forum and see now why it is such a popular Web site. I will hang around for a few more minutes to see if anyone has any question that they would like to direct specifically to me. The folks at JavaRanch are really great. Boy what I would have done to have had a forum like this eight years ago.
If anyone is really interested in the book being given away here, the publisher is aware that I am about to replace it with a Second Edition, and has "dumped" the printed copy to Internet wholesalers. Consequently, you can pick up a copy dirt cheap on Amazon.com at http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0201709163/javarules-20/102-8164088-1197759

Download a copy of <a href="http://www.javarules.com" target="_blank" rel="nofollow"><i>"Mastering The Fundamentals of The Java Programming Language"</i></a>

If you want, Tom. Am I supposed to be here all week? On the whole, the greenhorns sound like really earnest programmers, and it has been interesting, especially because it has been ages since I taught a class. I can hang for the week if that is what is expected, but the JDJ newsletter column is eating up all my free time. Not only do I have to write it, but I have to republish the book every week as an unexpected "side effect." I will check in for a few hours each morning for the rest of the week. Okay?
