This is a question for Doug:
Does your book go into the workings of class loaders? It's something i'd like to understand better, but have never yet come across a decent description of it.

Apart from the book, it might be worthwhile to look at some articles at

The section on class loaders is in Volume 3, which is not going to see the light of day for at least another year. I would be reluctant to share what I have now because this is a complex subject, and I have not looked at my stuff in ages. I have never read his book, but Stuart Dabbs Halloway is a really great guy who helped edit my Java Rules book in print. It may seem like an unlikely candidate, but I have heard said that his chapter on class loaders in "Component Development for the Java Platform" is particularly insightful. Like I said, though, I never read it, and I haven't spoken with Stuart in a long time, but I distinctly recall someone saying this.

Does the book cover reflection?
