Is it the Java Documentation? I read in one of the forums that this should be studied before taking the exam, that it would help.

I may well be mistaken, but I think the term "spec mapping" when applied to a certification exam refers to the process of mapping a specification, such as the Java Language Specification, to the exam objectives.

I agree with Dirk -- here's a link to the JLS
Personally, I have used the JLS as a reference, and not as a main study guide. I used it to clear up any questions I had regarding details of the language and what not. I recommend getting a good book, taking a bunch of mock exams, ask questions as you come across them, and check out the JLS as often as you like, but don't go so far as to memorize the dang thing (personally, I think that's a bit extreme).
