Hi Jay
I bought their software snd they gave me two licences , one for my work machine and the other for my home machine. The software itself is very good but my problem with is with the licence thing. The licence is locked to your hardware .Now in my case , I had a power surge that blue a chip on my motherboard , rendering it useless and I had to buy a new one(motherboard). As you might have guessed JQPlus stopped working because the licence was locked to my old motherboard.I didnt bother asking them for another licence because they say clearly on their website they wouldn't give a third licence.
Otherwise the software is great.

Hi Jay,
I used JQPlus to prepare my SCJP 1.4 exam. It is very good for preparing the exam.
For the license problem, you may see that more and more software used machine dependent licenses because this is the only way for avoiding us install the software on other machines, or send to our friends to install.
Thus, I dont think it is a problem.
Best luck for your exam.
Nick.

I disagree completely because in my case I couldn't use the software because my motherboard got burnt.Because something like that can happen , there should provide a solution to deal with such situations. Such impositions on consumers are not good for the software industry, that's why many companies including M$ itself don't do that. They were going to do so for XP , but realised how it would kill their business. In my case now I'm NOT gonna buy a second licence from JQplus because I now know what can happen if my machine accidentally dies or my network card or modem has to be replaced.Thats one customer lost for them.

Hi Jeff,
We go out of our way to make sure that genuine customers who have a problem with their machines are able to run the s/w. There have been many instances where we have given 3 or even 4 license. The reason we don't say it is because people take undue advantange of this. Jeff, we understand the problem you faced and that's why we did not have any such license and some people had uploaded the s/w on user groups let alone sharing with their their friends. I would really request you to reconsider your decision.
Also, we are not the first one to do this. Many other mock exam simulators also have the same process. I think MS has also has some activation thing in XP. You can't install it on multiple machines.
thanks,
Paul.

Hi,
I have twelve days more to go for the SCJP Exam. Is it worth buying the JQ Plus software? Will I be able to finsih all the 11 exams. In my expereince , I found that it is very time consuming process(any mock exam). I have bought Marcus's maock exams already. They are too good. Still, I do not want to take any chances as I have two kids and they always run around so much and ask me questions every other minute and I get distracted all the time.
The licence problem does not bother me as I feel genuine cases will be taken care.
Thanks,
Regards,
Raman

Ok Paul I hear you. I understand the problem with people uploading and using the software illegally.I was just discouraged from contacting you guys because the e-mail I got when I requested a second licence for my home machine (the one that got burnt ) , stated that a further request wouldn't be considered.I'm still using the other licence on the work machine and I can say ,albeit the licence issue, JQPLus has been the best for me at least. Well I'm still to write the exam and am sure I will do well because of the practice with the JQPlus mock exams.I'm happy that someone from the company (Paul) responded and that's encouraging. So , yes Paul I've reconsidered and will definitely buy another licence for the home machine and will be buying the EJB one as well , once I finish with the standard programmer exam.
Cheers mate.

JQPlus is good value for money and they are reasonable about the licensing issues.
