Howdy folks,
Sorry to interrupt this forum, but Si Brewster is a winner on one of our other contests, and we haven't been able to get ahold of him to find out his mailing address

So, I saw you're in this forum Si, so if you could *please* write to me... we want to make sure that you get your book when it comes out. (very soon now!)

Send an email to:
kathy@wickedlysmart.com

Thanks!!
-Kathy

Hi Kathy,

I've just sent a mail to the address you provided. I've sent mails to 2 previous addresses but you've evidently not received them - please let me know if you haven't got this mail either.

Thanks,

Si

Hmmm... for some reason, they aren't getting through my filters. Can you try writing to bert?

Thanks for trying!! We'll get you one way or another

cheers,
Kathy

I believe I had the same mail-not-arriving problem about a year and change ago and stopped sending messages to KS. I got through to Bert without a problem, but not Kathy.

Geez, now I wonder what *else* I'm missing...
Maybe I really DID win that lottery... or a long lost relative left me a million dollars in his will... or Nike called and wants to sponsor me for being one of the all-time slowest 10K runners in the US... who KNOWS?

I do have my filters set up to be pretty aggressive, but I get at least 400 spam emails a day, so it's hopeless for me to try to sort through them.

Looks like I need to do some fine-tuning. Si, Dirk, Jeff, any idea what my filters are catching that looks like spam?

Anyway, the message is: when in doubt, write to Bert

cheers,
Kathy

Kathy, it seems like Bert get less spam emails than you. Then his filters are less agressive than urs...

Mmm, our cowgirl seem more attractive than her colleagues, Bert...

Just kidding...

Hi Kathy,

I've now tried Bert's address - please let me know if that doesn't arrive!

Hi, Kathy -

I did write to Bert, and he recommended that I write to you! That was in the days when we were talking about me helping on one of your Head First Java books, then POOF! no more contact, no more replies. I can probably pinpoint when you activated those aggressive filter policies...

Hi I'm so glad to see you posting as I sent you previously urgent communications regarding an opportunity. I represent Mr. Namrahamitan Jones' business who recently was mauled by a tiger. We are so sad but his affairs contain 128 MILLION dollars that must be distributed before it is taken by our government. If you could so kindly contact me I think you would be the best person to invest these funds. You will receive a 60% commission, but first please send me your banking details so that we can arrange a small wire transfer to show good faith.

Please keep this very confidential!!1!1!

No, no, I'm sure Mr. Namrahamitan Jones went down in an airplane and his attorneys need your bank information to settle the $145 Billion they can't wait to give away...

Hey Kathy,

Now I am not surprising !

I sent you email with some errata on HF S&JSP and did not get any confirmation from you (Bert was in CC as well),

Reading this thread I see that apparently note was deleted by your "very-smart-filters"...

How can I reliable contact you or Bert? (Or I can post my comment here, Or add me to "trusted" senders - my Email ID is : nikolay_zaikin[at]mail.ru )

regards,
MZ

moving to the Javaranch forum(maybe we need a B&K groupie page?). And yes, Kathy is much cuter then Bert...so since Bert gets to hang out with her, Bert kinda wins there, doesn't he?
