Expired SCJP 1.4 certificate?

Looking at my SCJP 1.4 certificate, I noticed that it expired in May. What exactly does this mean? Can I still take the SCBCD exam or will I be forced to retake the SCJP exam again because my certificate has expired?

Forget the expiry date thing, it was a misconceived experiment that Sun tried
You are still eligible to take your SCBCD.
