Short Answers in the exam

Hi,

I have seen in the sun site that the exam model would include short answers as well. But in neither of the mock exams or single topic exams I have seen short answers.

Please can anybody show me the link for the mock tests where short answers are also included.

Mathangi.

A typical question would be something like "what are the modifiers to be used for the blahblah method?". The answer to which you would have to type in something like: private super volatile

(Well I'm not going to give you the really correct question and answer, am I? )

So don't worry about such a question, they are really very rare.

These questions appeared in the old SCJP 1.2 exam. When I took SCJP 1.4 exam, they were not there already.

Hi All ... The problem with these kind of SHORT ANSWERS is that, when you are asked to type the method name, you really get a doubt as to how it has to be typed. The possible confusions I had were,

- Should the full signature + return type + modifier has to be typed.
- Should a semicolon follow the method name.

et al.

How will these questions be evaluvated. If it is mere, a string comparison of my answer with the pre defined answer for the exam, I may be given a wrong judgement, though my answer was right. Right?

Dont worried, SUN had provided clear instructions (what to be included in the answers) in the questions in SCJP 1.2. Thus, I would expect SUN will do the same in upcoming exams, if these type of questions are still there.

SUN will put down all accepted answers in the engine, and it would be smart enough to determine spaces, blankets, etc. However, of course, the answer should be case-sensitive.

Anyway, why you have to worry about this issue as there is no question as short answer format.
