I guess my topic is somewhat self-explanatory. I passed the SCJP in December 2000. What should I concentrate on in order to re-certify myself via SCJP1.4? Or, should I wait until SCJP1.5 is available??

I would wait for 1.5 to come out, since you already have 1.2, but thats just me.
Since you are already certified, if I were u I will skip taking the test again. If you are practical with money, you would not retake a certification u already passed.
Instead if you have commitment, go for learning 1.5 vigorously and go after other certification u already don't have. That will add more value to you.
I do not have any java certifications ... would it be worth it for me to take the 1.4 now or wait the six months + ? I am leaning towards taking the 1.4 exam ... any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks
In my opinion, if you're ready, go for it. Your 1.4 will not be invalidated by the release of 1.5. Once you pass 1.4, you can move on to one of the more-valuable certs, namely the developer exams.
