OK, So I got took the exam last Saturday, and here is about all I can say on it.

Don't be hard on yourself, enjoy the time.

There is so much to know for this exam that it is ok if you forget a simple rule when taking the exam. I know I did, when I got back and realized what I had forgotten, I couldn't believe it, but it happens, and with how many questions you get and the time to take the exam, it is easy to overlook something. Just don't beat yourself up on it.

Good Luck everyone.

Mark

I didn't get the chance to enjoy the exam, feeling numb answering so many questions. But did give myself a good pat on the back by having a good meal for completing the exam.

Best luck everyone.

Beta exam is different from offical released exam, you need to wait for 6-8 weeks for getting the beta result.

I understand they can not give the cert , right after taking the exam, but they could give us a paper sheet with a proof we have spent 4hours on these exam.
after the first spent 2 hours, even you are going to blow up ... you stay not to loose 2 hours ...
too long , it is like a marathon ... java marathon ...
;-)
with all the comments I have done ... I hope they will give me some extra points!
I think the exam is pretty well done, there is not a lot of fault /errors.
somewhere I have seen a method parameter as this : toto(byte[])

[Removed Exam Details - Mark Spritzler]

on 166 questions perhaps less than 10 ... with some fuzzy things

Sorry for having to edit your post, but I think that gave away too much actual exam content.

I found the exam was very interesting, and I love the question style.

I hope SUN will keep the question patterns, and thus, we found the exams to be more interesting.

Nah, no problems there, I actually agree with you on what you did post.

What do you mean by dry?

Man, I'm a wreck after that thing. I didn't even get through all of the questions! I must of fallen asleep at sometime, because the 5 hours just rushed by. Anyone who passes this thing deserves a gold medal not a paper certificate. However, I think the new exam is much more like a real test of Java knowledge than the SCJP 1.4/1.2 certifications are at the moment.

I mean "dry" like the paint on something... I mean the beta is pretty final with no so much errors.

An advice for the future takers ... keep with you foods , water , if you can coffee ... because 5 hours is really long !

Ah, yes I see what you mean. I think there was a good technical review of the questions before they reach the masses. I found one spelling error, and one code error, or at least I believe it was a code error.

If it was a duplicate "u" in one variable and a missing "static" in a main() method, you got the same that i found

Man, that was a demanding exam.... did that last Saturday and 5 hours seemed like 1...
