Dear all, I will go for the SCJP 1.4 exam on monday. While I prepared with the K&B book I am now a little bit nervous . The reason is that after going through Dan Chisholms mock exams I don't feel that strong anymore. He has a whole bunch of tough questions in it. Can someone tell me what will await me in the exam? Is it more Dan's level or will it be of the K&B type

It's more like K&B style. However, Dan's mock exams make your basics more stronger. The difficulty level in real exam is same as K&B questions. Good luck for the exam.

For the closest match to the real exam, try the $75 Sun SCJP practice exam set. The SCJP has some very clever compiler error questions where you will solve the programming problem and miss the syntax or semantic error. None of the other mocks do this as well (thanks Kathy ). The advantage of the mock exams is that they drill you on the material to the point that you don't forget the rules or waste time, remembering some some detail of threads or collections, that you could spend checking for errors - compiler errors or test-taker errors. Good luck!

Thanks for your both good wishes. Mike I'll come back to Sun's 75$ practice test in case I fail. Now it's too late.

Hi Mike, I checked for Sun's SCJP practice exam and took the free 10 sample question option. Can you tell me how many questions the 75$ practice exam do have? Regards, Darya

As I remember, it's three standard length SCJP exams.

After passing the SCJP 1.4 exam today I can agree with Mike and answer the question by myself whether the real exam looks like the K&B mock exam. I would even go further and say that it exactly looks like from K&B. Exam questions can be found inside the K&B book plus on the K&B book CD from Learnkey plus the Bonus exam from Learnkey. If that is not enough and you want to get a high score I highly recommend Dan Chisholm's mock exam. However they are really time consuming and you need several days to do them all. Good luck to those who are going for the SCJP. Regards, Darya

Thanks Ramya , it's not a skip button but a 'Mark' checkbox on the top left. The user interface is very convenient. Regards, Darya
