Hi Ranchers
I know this question may be reduntant but I have never found a satisfactory answer in this forums. i would be thrilled if somebody answers this one objectively
1> How relevant is taking SCJP exam in version Java 1.4 now that Java 1.5 is slowly gaining prominence
2> What do you guys suggest for a student planning to tkae the exam in 2 months go for Java 1.4 or study for Java 5.0
3> If both seem viable options.. then I would go for Java 1.4 since I have been preparing on and off for past 3-4 weeks

Well if you had prepared for java 1.4 and going to taking it in a couple of months i'll advice you to do the 5.0 exam. And your preparation is not gonna be a waste, will just need some extra preparation to be geared for the 5.0 exam.
But if the certification is an urgent requirement to u and if u feel u dont have enough resources to prepare for the 5.0 exam then do the 1.4 one and then gradually do the upgrade exam...
