A Programmer`s Guide to Java™ Certification: BY Mughal BUT VERY OLD EDITION SAY 2001 EDOTION
I AM PLANNING TO PURCHASE NEW BOOK SO I HAVE SEEN Katherine Sierra, Bert BOOK ALSO. WHIOCH UIS THE BEST BOOK? PLEASE SUGGEST WHICH BOOK SHOULD I PURCHASE.
A Programmer's Guide to Java Certification: A Comprehesive Primer, Second Edition by Khalid Mughal, Rolf Rasmussen ISBN:0201728281
This book is excellent for SCJP 1.4 and is not wordy. Its old version is like what you said for SCJP 1.2 It is worth all dollars you spent in buying it.
Is there any difference between international edition and indian edition of A PROGRAMMER'S GUIDE TO JAVA CERTIFICATION BY KHALID MUGHAL & ROLF W. RASMUSSEN

K&B book is essential. They helped create the real exam.
Mughal gives more complete coverage, not needed for the SCJP exam but needed for working with Java.
SCJP has very tricky questions, start practicing with K&B mocks in book and on disk. Consider Sun's $75 mock exam set.
