API documentation

i heard that before writing the SCJP one should familiar with API documentation. i read K&B i have no idea how the API will be.

is it essential to read API,if it so where can i find it.give me the path of that file.

Here's the API for 1.4.2. Alternatively, you can read the API offline by downloading the "J2SE 1.4.2 Documentation" here.

but are all api knowledge is needed or important...
besides K&B book and khalid book ??

For the 1.4 exam, you should be fine with the API material covered in K&B. You might find it useful to read, or at least skim, the on-line javadocs for the java.lang and java.util packages.
