Hello Friends, I am planning to write SCJP 5.0 by the end of August. First problem , I am facing is the books' selection for SCJP 5.0. I have shortlisted following material:
1. Head First Java (covering J2SE 5.0) 2. Complete Java 2 Certification Guide (for SCJP 5.0) 3. K&B 1.4 (as I dont think K&B for 5.0 will be out anytime soon) 4. Khalid Mughal's Book (again for 1.4) 5. SCJP 5.0 Study Guide available on JavaRanch
I would like to know what out of all these is unnecessary and which is a MUST. Also what should be the sequence of reading ? Please help me in making my stratagy for clearing SCJP 5.0
I just finished Head First Java, and it's the best programming book I've read to date. It's made me laugh more than a few times and explains everything realy well. You randomly get to say that reading a book on a programming language is fun, but this is about is close as it gets. [ June 06, 2005: Message edited by: Nicholas Carrier ]
Teaching yourself anything is always the cheapest way, but it definitely takes a lot of time and effort.<br /> <br />Thank you javaranch <a href="http://"http://faq.javaranch.com/view?HowToAskQuestionsOnJavaRanch"" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">Learn How to Ask Your Question</a> and be nice
