I have purchased the Sun examination vocher in september 2004. It expires on 31 august 2005. I thought of scheduling the SCJP2 1.4 on 22nd August and was going through the sun website. I noticed that i can use the same exam vocher for SCJP2 5.0. I am now in a confused state that whether I should register for SCJP2 1.4 (CX-310-035) or SCJP2 5.0 (CX-310-055).
On one side if I take the older version i.e. SCJP2 1.4, the resources(practice exams) are available in plenty and also I am accustomed to this version. Taking this exam will definately lead to a good %, but the thing is, by the time I complete my B.Tech (i.e. may 2006), most of the companies will shift there work to the newer version.
On the other hand if I take the newer verion of the exam SCJP2 5.0, which has been recently released by SUN MICROSYSTEMS, there are a very few exam simulators or preparation material and no certification guide book is yet released into the market. So there are chances for a bad score, if i don't find a proper preparation material for it!
I am unable to decide that on what basis should I take my decision, whether I should take the decision in favour of % by registering for the SCJP2 1.4 or should I take the decision in the favour of the advanced version by registering for the SCJP2 5.0.
Please respond with your advice.
yours sincerely
