In what number system is 0 to 0177777, range of type char?It is given as an answer to one of Dan Chisholm's test question.

0177777 is octal representation of 65535 in decimal. Hope that helps

janki, note that...
  • Octal literals are prefixed with zero. For example, 034 is an octal representation of 28.
  • Hexadecimal literals are prefixed with zero and the letter x. For example, 0x1c is a hexadecimal representation of 28.
