Please correct me if i am wrong, but i don't recall reading about the getXxx() method in K&B.

Have the objectives changed or something, because as i said, it is completely new to me, and iv'e been studying for the SCJP 1.4 for 4 months now.

I don't have my copy of K&B on me so i can't confirm it myself right now.
