Here which compiles and why??
I know s+=i compiles and thats the answer
But does this += operator not work for charactersand string or integers..

c = c + i;

Here, you're trying to assign an int value (32-bit) to a char variable (16-bit); you'll need to cast in order to avoid the "possible lost of precision" warning...

s += i; 

This compiles because the int value will be converted to a String and concatenated.

i += s; 

This won't compile because you can't assign a reference type to a primitive variable. In other words, String references aren't int values, so you can't make this assignment.

c += s; 

Same as above.
