In answer to the original post: I did not see the original thread, but I would have trashed it myself if I had seen it.

Basically, threads and posts offering/requesting/enquiring about pirated books, real exam questions, braindumps, and the like are not acceptable on this site. They will be trashed, in most cases without comment. Please use your common sense. Or shall we get Kathy Sierra and Bert Bates, both being moderators of this site, to explain it to you?

On the other hand, giving benefit of doubt, you wanted to find out how to report such illegal material, I suggest you check first on Amazon (or the publisher's site) and report the source of the material to the publisher.

Hi Kayalvizhi,

As an author I support this policy. The only way that Kathy and I make a living is through the sales of our books. When people spread illegal copies of books, the authors get no compensation. It might be interesting to note that each book takes us between 1000 and 2000 hours to write, and depending on the situation, we receive as little as 30 cents / book. (Usually it's a little more than that, but a significant number of books fall into that category.)

We get many requests to offer our books in pdf format, and while we'd really like to do that (we love trees like everyone else ), we can't afford to do it if people distribute illegal copies!

Over the last several years we have posted free chapters and free mock exams, and we will continue to do that (in fact, we'll be posting some mocks in this forum in a few days).

So we'd really appreciate it if you helped us out by not spreading illegal materials of ours, or any other authors!

Thanks!

Bert

Believe me I had no idea that what i possess is illegal. All the while i thought its some documentation that was downloaded from internet (for free ofcourse).

But when i saw some posts with questions mentioned as from K&B book, it looked similar to what I had in my documents. And thats why i posted to get to know.

I didn't mean to hurt anyone and i am sorry if i have offended anyone unknowingly
