Congratulations on your 100th post Sandy! You have made a good point: Answering or trying to answer other posters' questions is an excellent and effective way to learn Java. I did the same when studying for my SCJP 1.4 (and I made a lot of mistakes in the process - and I still make some, that is part of the learning process.)

Only you know if you are ready for SCJP 5.0: how are you getting on with the new Java 5.0 topics on generics, enums, boxing, object serialization, etc.?

Hi Barry,

Thanx for your reply. As this forum has mostly 1.4 questions, so if I would be judged according to 1.4 I think I stand strong. But for the new topics included in SCJP 5 I cannot judge due to lack of study material in the market.

Anyways I am trying my level best.

You could wait for the "Sierra and Bert" book and test yourself using their mock exam.

Hi Sandeep -

How did you do with the sample mocks we posted? Think about not only how many questins you got correct, but also about how well you understood the ins and outs of the topics... that sample was heavily weighted towards the new topics.

Hi Sandeep -
have you read through angelika's FAQ on Generics thoroughly?
If you have and if you have also practice and understood them then please go ahead with the 5.0 exam.

Cheers,
Shivani.
