Hi,
I plan to take the exam but still haven't decide which version will i take.
I wondering is it big matter when apply for a job?
And is it the exam score matter to employer?
Do they ask abt the score in interview or do they dont care.
Anybody have interview experience about this.

Thanks,

Ricky

Ricky,

Welcome to the Ranch,

I plan to take the exam but still haven't decide which version will i take.

The SCJP 1.4 has a lot of study material available, and of course we have Kathy and Bert's book, an excellent study guide. Whereas for the 1.5 version we lack the same.

I wondering is it big matter when apply for a job?

Well some employers might appreciate an employee with SCJP, but there is no substitute for experience. If you are new to Java SCJP is the way to go. You will find many discussions on the net, regarding this question you have.

And is it the exam score matter to employer?

From my personal experience and that of my friends, I understand that employers do not care much about the score. But it never harms to score well. In my SCJP certificate there is no mention of how much I scored.

Good luck !

The people you need to get passed with the certification exam would not know if you claimed to have certification for Java 9 3/4. Certification is mostly a binary thing, either you have it or you don't. Once you get in front of someone who knows much about Java they will have their own cunning ways of assessing your underlying Java knowledge.

Thank you for replay.
I agreed that experience and skill is more impotant than number.
I think i will go for 1.4 first in 2 month then i will learn new 1.5 feature later because I will look for new job in 3 month time.

Thanks,

Ricky
